Opponents from left to right:

1st opponent: Margo (Hands Up by Joel “@JoelG” Guerra)

A lazy, narcissistic, rude space cop who decides to take a night off and into even more high stakes, taking probably some of her money, but mostly Ula’s job savings without her knowing (Assuming Ula didn’t know about Margo’s immortality until the bet, so she’d be oblivious to this as well). Margo would constantly tease the player and her opponents into believing her bluffs or taking in her betting/raising baits, and maybe some occasions flirt with the player depending on the circumstanced conditions (maybe something special when the player wins a showdown with her). I think it would be an opportunity to expand the potential lore of Hands Up with her telling her stories during her cop duties, giving her some funny conversation exchanges and responses, and maybe some little fun references or facts about Joel’s other series “ENA” (maybe having some connections with ENA). I also was thinking her to have a different attire besides her usual green or black goth outfits, maybe wearing a formal dress since she adores the attention from the other guys (there’s one dress reference of her I could only find on pinterest) or even have her wear different outfit designs based on the other shorts or from JoelG’s alternate clothing designs of her as unlockables. Her bounty is the most difficult one for me to think of, I think either her waitress outfit or the hourglass dog from the ENA series, since both series are made by JoelG.

2nd opponent: Shrike Sanchez (Monkey Wrench by Josh “@Zeurel” Palmer)

An impatient yet thrill-seeking mercenary who wants to pounce on large fat rewards whether he finds the chance, thus joining in and wagering on the poker tournament. Shrike would make a great addition to tell his past merc jobs, his time with L.A.W. Navy and subtle hints on why he quit to find his own path, and share his love of pizza with Margo, possibly having constant “besties” moments with her, even inviting her to Pizzapocalypse when he wins the tournament (or the other way around). Shrike would occasionally try to irritate the player and other opponents to play recklessly so he could have the upper hand (like Strong Bad or Claptrap), whether his or good or bad. There would be some fun moments with his bilingual of English and Spanish during the game, especially when he wins or loses a pot depending on the conditions. I’d say his bounty would be his dual space guns or his El Bandito comics collection he pulled out from the ep 2 premiere.

3rd opponent: Geronimo (Geronimo & Heatstepper by Ryan “@GrillHou5e” Foley)

A freelance space deputy jackalope finding an opportunity to pay rent and play high stakes, he decides to bring some of his savings and puts his luck on the poker tournament. Geronimo seems to be the most rational, but still simple-minded of the poker group, mostly as the straight man during the conversations, like Tycho or Ash, but he’s still someone you should not mess with, constantly loud-mouthing to other players and even himself, and even gives you subtle warnings of his hand, whether you should give in to his bluffs or not and call or fold. After watching the first part of the first episode of the series, I still feel I don’t have a full grasp on Geronimo’s personality, but I imagine he’s pretty trigger-happy, likes to be risky, and would occasionally show off his marksmanship to the others (when he folds and shoots his cards, maybe shoots something, or someone, as well), especially competing with Shrike on some occasions, and talks about his past adventures and exchange his deputy stories with Margo since they’re both law enforcers who also do nothing to shut down this tournament but play along. I’m thinking that he would come along with Heatstepper who would be there just for the all-you-can-eat buffet, and would assist Geronimo in certain occasions, like Sam & Max in Poker Night 2. For his bounty maybe a pair of red nunchucks based on one of the creator’s concept arts of the series.

4th opponent: Killgar (Starbarians by Harry “@HappyHarry” Partridge)

A brutal yet greedy space barbarian who would kill for rewards, or just take first kill next. He finds out about the poker tournament through Hogstrong’s invite and decides to take his place instead without him knowing so he could keep the reward for himself, until he realizes what poker is after signing an agreement that especially involves “no killing during the tournament”, ends up learning poker from a poker coach, then beats up hence poker coach, but not enough to kill him. Killgar would try to threaten the player and his opponents to fold, or give them a false sense of security and trick them to bluff or fold. I imagine Killgar as the Heavy or Brock of the group, telling stories of his brutal adventures, his battle victories, constantly insulting Hogstrong behind his back, and having moments where he almost lets out his murderous intent whether he loses to a much high hand (a straight or above), but is constantly reminded of his agreement to not harm any of the players during the game. His bounty reward would probably his signature sword, or Hogstrong's axe-rifle combination weapon that he swiped.

Dealer: Wink (Wimp Witch by @cecameron)

Similar to Glados, Wink would be in his computer monitor form instead of having a body (it’s pretty complicated, you might have to read the webcomic series to understand his situation). He would probably give snarky remarks and insults to the player and the opponents, but solely complimenting Margo (mostly “simping” on her). Unfortunately I can’t imagine Wink having much to tell about his life or job, nor do I remember Glados engaging a conversation with the players before. Wink is the only AI computer similar to Glados I could think of, and I don’t really have any other Newgrounds Sci-Fi themed character in mind that could be a unique dealer. His bounty would probably be his personal hover-scooter like vehicle he used when he had a body.

For unlockables, I would say after playing/winning Texas Hold’em the player can unlock the Omaha game mode, and use the tokens or virtual in-game money winnings to unlock other poker games, such as Badugi, Razz, Short Deck, Pineapple, etc. The player could also use the tokens/virtual money to unlock in-game card, chip and table design themes base on the characters’ respective series or other Newgrounds series such as Henry Stickmin, Madness Combat, Alien Hominid, etc., triggering unique dialogue based on the setting. I imagine the host running the tournament would be Pod-chan and the bartender would be the bartender devil girl from the Newgrounds flash game “Bar-I-Tone” (@DOJIMADOG, @ThatRozebudGuy, @crocid, @cval, @elikapika, @J4DS), that way you can also buy drinks for the characters and discover their tell hints more easier. You can also set the amount of banter chat similar to the first poker game, such as “mom’s the word” to “the gift of gab”, in case the player needs to focus more on playing the game.

I figured doing a Newgrounds theme poker video game would help give some exposure to the content creators’ series and also having them write for their characters’ dialogues and potential stories from their series within the game, not to mention them and the characters’ respective voice actors getting a cut from the game’s purchase sales. It’s a long shot, but I hope someone who can find the game files for Poker Night at the Inventory 1 or 2 (mostly 2) can find the programming code and someday make a poker video game with fun dialogue writing inspired by the Poker Night at the Inventory games.

After months of delay and finding a good moving company, me and my family have reached our new home destination! The good news, we brought a lot of stuff from our old home, a lot of arguments between us and our moving company regarding more transportation means gave us some stress, but we managed to meet a solution and they got to transport our stuff to our new home. We couldn't bring everything since it would overweight the trucks and we had to bring some to our cars, and we still have stuff at our old house. My semester is almost over this year some I will have time to help. The bad news, since we couldn't bring everything to our new home, we will have to go back and forth to get our remaining belongings with us, fortunately we need to go back one more in a few months to finish some business there as well. There's also gonna be a lot of remodeling to do at our new house (painting, flooring, applying new appliances like fridge, laundry machines, hell we might install an elevator just to avoid having a stairs accident again), so it will be a very busy year for us. Even after we finish remodeling, my family will still have to find another house to move, and it won't be easy since demands of the area I moved in are high. Fortunately it will be the last move and then we can take a break from moving for a while. I still have a few classes I need to take and pass, graduate, and transfer to my new university over the one I initially had plan taking before we had to move. It's not easy, but it could have been worse, so here's to a new life ahead.

Happy Pico Day Newgrounders

Today's the day when I won the sperm race and was rewarded a welcome to this world. Now I wish I could give that reward back to someone else.

Jokes aside sure today has been a hell-loose world but honestly I'm at least glad I could live and grow up during the 20th century, those were good times.

Continuing my sketch portfolio, again just some practice with a bonus flamingo sketch.

I just learned that I can use my news posts to post images as well, so I decided to post my sketching practices on my newsfeed instead of my art portal. I may not get much feedback from these, but I think this is a good way to keep on posting to show I'm active on future drawings for Newgrounds. I decided the limit for my drawing practice images should be at least 4 in case the images are too big for viewers/users to scroll through.
